25% of Earth’s species are at risk due to human activity. In Flanders, nature is highly fragmented and biodiversity is declining, while people are increasingly disconnected from it.
Animalinas reconnects people with nature through a >100 km route in Natuurpark Rivierenland, using murals by Dzia to highlight local species and raise awareness.
WHY Animalinas?

Scope
For an emerging designer, it offered the opportunity to showcase skills on a large-scale project. It brought together a passion for design with visually striking elements and themes of local fauna and flora.

This project was carried out on a voluntary basis, driven by a strong connection to the region and a cause worth supporting. The work of graffiti artist Dzia had long been a source of inspiration, and the involvement of familiar project leaders added a meaningful dimension to the collaboration.

This publication is a second edition and the project was a true team effort, involving a photographer, cartographer, and multiple writers, with the full design developed and also refined through collective feedback.

While more visual content could have been included on this website, the focus remains on encouraging people to purchase the book, as all proceeds support nature restoration in the Rivierenland.

All images are subject to portrait and artwork rights.
All shown graffiti is created by DZIA.
